SKATEMILL

Treadmill for Improving
Skating Skills

What is SKATEMILL Trainer?

The hockey skating treadmill, or Skatemill, is a specialized device designed for hockey players to improve their skating technique and overall performance. Unlike traditional treadmills, this machine features a surface made of synthetic material that simulates the glide of real ice. Read on to learn how the trainer works and its key features.

Key Features of SKATEMILL Trainer

Synthetic Surface: the surface is made of synthetic material (“synthetic ice”) that provides a similar glide to natural ice. Players can use their regular hockey skates during training.

  • Endless ice: the training treadmill features a surface that allows players to skate in place without moving forward. This keeps players always in view of the coach.
  • Rapid skill improvement: our HST is equipped with advanced AI-based software. Various diagnostic systems help coaches identify a player’s weak points and work on improving them quickly and effectively, while continuously monitoring progress.
  • Adjustable speed: the training treadmill offers adjustable speed settings, allowing players to skate at different paces—from slow, controlled movements for technique development to fast sprints for conditioning.
  • Resistance options: these simulate the effort required for various skating maneuvers and help players build leg strength.
  • Monitoring and feedback: depending on configuration, our HST comes with sensors and cameras that track player movements and provide instant feedback on skating stride, balance, and technique. This data helps players and coaches pinpoint areas for improvement.
  • Training programs: includes the Instructor App with video exercises targeting specific skating skills, such as acceleration, agility, balance, and more.
  • Safety features: for safe training, the HST has foldable handles and emergency stop mechanisms, allowing players to halt the machine immediately if needed.
  • Year-round training: as hockey trainers are used indoors, players can train regardless of weather or ice availability, making them especially useful during the off-season.

Hockey trainers have become an essential tool for players at all levels, from youth to professionals, as they provide a controlled and focused environment to improve skating, endurance, and overall on-ice performance.
