Hear from our visitors

At the Sport Arena in Malacky, we found truly high-quality sports facilities and infrastructure, suitable even for matches like the floorball Extraliga final. The people who manage the arena are professionals with a very pleasant and personable approach, which we highly appreciate as clients. The fan facilities are excellent, and the space beyond the stands adds extra value for organizing matches with higher attendance.

Sport Arena Malacky provides an outstanding environment for both amateur and professional athletes. Soon after opening, floorball hosted its league competitions at the venue, including the thrilling men’s Extraliga final. Beyond league play, the venue is perfectly suited for national team training camps and international events.
History of the PILA area
Malacky experienced an interesting and notable period, especially at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. At that time, the town had already developed a commercial and industrial character. Industrial enterprises were established, and the development of the food industry, crafts, and wood processing continued.
The Malacky sawmill, located near Zamocky Park, was founded by the Palffy family in the 19th century (previously, the sawmill was at Rakaren). When a railway was built along the sawmill at the end of the 19th century, the Palffys constructed their own forest railway – a small track used to transport timber from the Carpathians directly to the sawmill.
During the Palffy period, the sawmill was managed by Frantisek Hanus, who had been invited here from Moravia. His son, Fridrich, taught physical education for many years at the local Franciscan gymnasium. The sawmill continued to operate even after the Palffys left, and its operation ended at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries.
